The Ensemble

a large mixed-use development in Amsterdam Zuidoost that will include 592 rental apartments and 20,000 m² of office space designed for flexibility and collaboration.

The Outcome

  • Location: The project is located at Karspeldreef 14-16 in the Amstel III area of Amsterdam Zuidoost, which is undergoing transformation into a mixed-use urban neighborhood.

 

  • Components:
      • Residential: 592 rental apartments across three segments: social rental, medium rental, and free sector rental.
      • Commercial: Approximately 20,000 m² squared of office space designed for flexibility and collaboration.

 

  • Social: A health center with a pharmacy and a youth talent center with a theater.

 

  • Other: Commercial spaces, a parking garage, and bicycle storage facilities

 

  • Sustainability: The development is designed to be nearly energy-neutral, incorporating heat and cold sources, solar panels, and green roofs. The office space is targeting a BREEAM Excellent certification.

 

  • Construction: Construction began in 2022, with completion of the residential towers slated for late 2025.
